Production FacilitiesClydachClydach is a major European nickel refinery located in the Swansea Valley of South Wales in the United Kingdom. The facility has been in continuous operation since 1902, when the pioneering metallurgist Ludwig Mond chose it as the site of the world's first commercial application of his carbonyl gas refining process. Today, the refinery produces high purity nickel for electroplating, steel manufacture and specialist alloy making, along with a variety of nickel powders and foams and nickel coated graphite. The plant is ISO 9001:2000, OSHAS18001.1999 and ISO 14001 certified and has been cited by the Welsh Development Agency for exemplary environmental management. |
